The Hidden Hut is renowned for its vibrant lunch offerings, especially during the summer months. Imagine biting into freshly grilled mackerel caught by local fishermen or savoring a hearty beach salad bursting with seasonal vegetables from their own allotment. Each dish reflects the essence of Cornwall, with a nod to its agricultural bounty and maritime traditions.

A favorite among locals and tourists alike, you might find yourself enchanted by the café's ambiance—families enjoying their holiday, friends gathering for a meal, and the gentle sound of waves in the background. From the freshly baked butcher’s steak pasties to the handmade sausage rolls that awaken your taste buds each morning, the warmth of The Hidden Hut is undeniably captivating.

One standout experience is their Soup Sundays, which offer rich, comforting stews, chowders, and spiced dhals that are perfect for those cooler coastal days. Each bowl tells a story of comfort and flavor, crafted meticulously by the talented kitchen team led by Simon.

Don’t overlook the enticing whips and dips, featuring freshly made hummus and seasonal dips paired with warm, toasted flatbreads. Absolutely epic. From the friendly service with a smile to the rapid service to the amazing boulibasse, everything about the Hidden hut was great. Yes it gets busy, yes it's not cheap but it is worth it. Ignore the 3 star review because they were in a rush on a 'touring holiday', ignore the 1 star review because they turned up at closing time and still expected the chef to be waiting for them. This place is not to be missed if you're in the area and worth a trip if you are not.

In a word "sensational". Great staff , excellent coffee, the best Portuguese custard tarts and steak pasties that I have ever tasted. We went there almost every day of our holiday in Portscatho. Congratulations to Simon and his team.

This is now one of my favourite spots in Cornwall. The food was absolutely amazing. The Cornish steak pasty I had was filling and delicious, and the hazelnut hot chocolate was exactly what I needed that morning— it warmed me up in the seaside breeze and gave me the perfect boost of sweetness. The blueberry and banana muffin was moist and so tasty. I only wish I’d had the chance to try more from their menu! The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was just right, with families enjoying their holidays. You also get to enjoy a stunning beach view. It was quite windy when we visited, so I’d recommend bringing an extra layer. Overall, I loved this place and would definitely come back when I’m in the area!

First visit to the Hidden Hut today and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had lunch which was delicious. I had the spiced pork dish and the other three with me chose the crab tacos which they said were amazing. It's in a lovely position overlooking the beach and on a day like today, sunny but not too hot it was heaven. The dog with us had a great time with us throwing sticks for her to retrieve. I would very much recommend this cafe and beach to locals and visitors alike.

Amazing little place set back from the beach. Note, did not sample the main menu just a slice of cake. An independent venue that serves up good looking food from what we saw. Prices looked very reasonable too. Would certainly return to try the food. Staff were very friendly and the setting was amazing

Fantastic place. I have been going for years. The best food and the view is stunning. You won't be disappointed.

The fish stew was incredible, I went back and ordered a second one! Kitchen staff were so friendly. Spectacular views by the beach.
